The Needlemakers is full of character and history.   It was built as a Georgian tallow candle-making factory (The Candlemakers is the name of the design studios upstairs),  then became a war-time surgical needle-making workshop.  Now, the 18^th century beams and old brickwork still survive and the small shops within have been specially designed to reflect the past by incorporating recycled church pews and old timbers.
